On the writing scene, yesterday I received notice from the NSAI Membership folks that my song "It's In The Cards" didn't make the final 20 slots for the Pitch-2-Publisher quarterly luncheon. I'm grateful to have actually been in the running, though. That is no small thing.
I also got an eval back on a song I have been struggling with for a couple of months. I jokingly left a message board entry for the evaluator that I felt like the Jeffery Steele song sung by Rascal Flatts -- "These Days" -- that I had "been here and there once or twice" on this song. It has been re-written from bare metal several times and I finally have a promising version that I can use to make it into the end zone with some lyric and melodic tweaking. It has been a challenge and a half on this one. Whew.
Tomorrow I will head to Little Rock for the regional and am looking forward to that. Joe (my son) is also finishing up tracking on his band's CD at Fayetteville this weekend and I am looking forward to hearing that in the near future.
